Our team sets up scheduled automatic backups: site files and the database are saved to a separate location, not only on the same server. Old copies are removed by rules, so storage does not fill up. We also check that a copy really restores and show you how to do it.

FAQ

We choose the frequency together with you. For a site that gets orders every day, a daily database copy and a weekly files copy are usually enough. If changes are frequent, the frequency can be increased.

Yes, during setup we restore a copy on a separate machine and check that the site opens and the database holds all the data. A copy that has never been tested is not reliable, so we do not skip this step.

Access to the server or hosting, the details for connecting to the database, and the cloud storage account you will use. Send passwords through a secure channel.

You can, but a copy on the same server does not protect against that server failing. So we recommend separate storage, even if it is another server.

You get access to the storage and the encryption key. The key is kept separately from the copies.

By a rule we agree on during setup, for example daily copies for the last few days and monthly snapshots. The period can be changed.

We check restoring at handover. If a copy later turns out to be faulty, tell us and we will look into it. Further support is arranged separately.
