Data cleaning and merging

We work as a team and take your files: Excel, CSV, exports from CRM, 1C or an online shop. First we look at the structure and find where the data disagrees: different spellings of names, dates in different formats, empty cells and repeats. Then we write Python scripts with pandas, bring everything to one form, merge tables by a key and keep a change log so it is clear what changed and why. You get a clean file or a PostgreSQL table, ready for reports and analysis. We never edit your original files, we work on copies.

Who it is for

For companies whose clients, products or sales sit in separate tables and exports, and whose reports hardly match. It suits the period before a CRM, a dashboard or a sync is set up. It is not a fit if you need to restore data that does not exist or collect new data from scratch.

Not included

To avoid surprises, here is what the base price does not cover and what is discussed separately:

  • Restoring data that is missing from the exports or was lost in the system
  • Collecting new data and access to closed systems without your login details
  • A legal check that the data may be used and stored

FAQ

The cleaned files and tables are handed over to you after payment and they are yours. The scripts we wrote also stay with you, unless we agree otherwise. The original exports remain yours and in your system, we do not publish them or pass them to third parties.

The price includes two rounds of revisions after the first result: changing the merge rules, clarifying which duplicates to remove, or fixing the format. If the logic needs to be rebuilt from scratch or new sources added, that is a separate estimate.

Usually 2 to 5 working days, once we have all the files and the rules are clear. If there are many files or the structures vary a lot, the time grows. We will name an exact date after the first look at the exports, usually the same day.

The files in their original form, ideally not renamed, and a description of what each field means. We also need the rules: which customer counts as a duplicate, which phone and date format you want, and which table is the main one. If an export came from a system, tell us where it came from and for which period.

Yes, but you are responsible for the lawfulness of passing that data to us. If possible, remove unnecessary personal fields before handing over, such as full addresses or documents, or replace them with codes. We keep copies only while we work and delete them on your request.

Then rows cannot be merged automatically without a risk of wrong matches. We will show you the disputed pairs and suggest options, and leave the decision to you. That way you do not lose needed rows and do not get accidental matches.

We accept Excel (XLSX, XLS), CSV with different separators, JSON and exports from 1C and popular CRMs. Files larger than a few hundred megabytes are better sent through cloud storage or as an archive. We will confirm the encoding and separators at the first look.
